IAIN Palopo’s English Education Study Program actively participated in the International Seminar on Multidisciplinary Studies (ISOMS) 2024 held on April 29-30, 2024 at IAIN Palopo’s Phinisi Auditorium. This international seminar carries the theme “A Multidisciplinary Approach to Sustainable Development: Integrating Islamic Values and Contemporary Knowledge,” which aims to discuss strategic issues such as Religious Moderation, Integrity in Education, Sharia Economics and Business, and Islamic law.

ISOMS 2024 featured five speakers from various countries, namely the United States, Iraq, Malaysia, Pakistan, and Indonesia, who provided a global perspective on multidisciplinary approaches in sustainable development. The seminar was attended by 800 participants on a hybrid basis, with 100 abstracts selected for presentation in parallel sessions.

Vice Chancellor II of IAIN Palopo, Dr. Masruddin, S.S., M.Hum., expressed his hope that this seminar would strengthen international academic networks and strengthen the contribution of IAIN Palopo lecturers in the global arena. “The results of this seminar will be published in international proceedings, and the lecturers’ writings will be included in international journals, which is an important step to share knowledge and enrich academic insights,” he said.

The English Education Study Program also sent a number of lecturers who were active in this seminar. Among the lecturers involved were St. Hartina, S.Pd., M.Pd., Nurhayati Usman, S.Pd.I., M.Pd., Yuyun Ruqiyyat Said, S.Pd., M.Pd., Devi Ismayanti, S.S., M.Hum., Ermawati, S.Pd., M.Hum., Fadhliyah Rahma Muin, S.Pd., M.Hum., Nurhajar P., S.Pd., M.Pd., and Mustika, S.Pd., M.Pd. Their presence shows PBI’s commitment in supporting quality academic development and oriented towards sustainable development.
