Thursday, April 25th, 2024, The English Education Study Program of IAIN Palopo successfully organized an inspiring Alumni Sharing Session titled “Alumni Care: Expanding Horizons”. The event aimed to equip participants with insights into Working and Holiday Visa (WHV) opportunities abroad and foster professional and cultural growth among alumni and students.
This session featured two distinguished speakers, Alex Sander, S.Pd., and Ira Nurrahmi, S.Pd., M.Pd., who shared their firsthand experiences of working and traveling abroad using WHV. As credible sources, both speakers provided valuable knowledge on the application process, challenges, benefits, and lessons learned during their journeys.
Alex Sander, currently a Support Foreman for the Head of Mine Technical in Australia and a former food processor, highlighted the significance of perseverance and adaptability in thriving in global work environments. Meanwhile, Ira Nurrahmi, who has held multiple roles such as cabin service in Australia, housekeeping supervisor, kitchen hand, F&B staff, and tour guide in Bali, emphasized the importance of self-confidence and embracing cross-cultural experiences.
The event achieved several objectives:
